A long lost cause in the making,
She never really stood a chance.
A smile during the day,
& uncontrollable thoughts at night.
From a deceased mother,
gone during her 5th grade year.
To an ignorant "father",
Who was never even there.
Everything was against her,
But some more than others.
Not quite society,
But instead bits of her past,
That gnawed on her daily,
